Although many Biblical prophets condemned greed, Jesus challenged the rich to give to the poor. Material possessions can be a distraction from God, leading us to covet our neighbor’s things or act out in pride.

Wrath is a commonly-repeated term, but it has many other meanings. Sins wrath is the opposite of love, and a kind word can turn away wrath. Proverbs 15:1 says that a gentle answer turns away wrath, while an angry word stirs up anger. The word wrath is listed as one of the seven deadly sins, and has many synonyms, such as anger and judgment. However, when it is crossed, wrath becomes sinful.

6. Envy –

Envy is one of the seven deadly sins. It seeks to destroy the good in others and minimize the good in yourself. The Devil may have first introduced envy to the world, or perhaps it was because of Adam and Eve’s envy of God. Either way, the result is ugly and diabolical. Here are some things to remember when you find yourself indulging in envy. You’ll be more likely to become a victim of this sin if you don’t keep your mouth shut.
