What is the Project Management Institute
The Project Management Institute, better known by its acronym PMI, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the study and promotion of Project Management and Management. What this organization seeks is to establish a series of guidelines that guide the direction and management of projects, proposing those most common management processes that practice has shown to be effective.
As mentioned by the specialized portal Espacio BIM, within project management, knowledge, skills, tools and techniques are applied to carry out all types of projects, satisfying the requirements of the same. In the text A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, the association described all these foundations for proper project management.
What is the PMI method
As we have commented previously, this organization establishes a series of guidelines that are valid for most projects. What is important to keep in mind is that this method should not be conceived as something closed. The guide that we have commented above talks about a series of techniques and tools, but these exposed contents should be adapted to the peculiarities of each of the projects. In this way, according to this approach, each and every one of the projects is made up of processes, which should be previously selected and which require a series of knowledge areas in order to be applied.
