It recently underwent an extensive facelift, redesigning its entire front windshield and acquiring a new rear bumper and a new rear light design.
In the practical interior, which is meticulously constructed, there is enough space for small things and generally correct ergonomics, with a satisfactory driving position. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 156 liters with the shelf in place and the (standard) removable double floor with the storage “box” underneath, which can accommodate many extra small things. If this floor is removed, the capacity of the trunk rises to 210 liters, a size satisfactory for the category. This “dual” layout is of course an element that significantly enhances the practicality of the car.
The price of Space Star 1.2 starts at 13,450 euros (test version 14,750), with a really good level of equipment for the category, to the list of which several security systems were added after the renewal. The standard equipment of the 1.2 includes ESP with hill holder, automatic braking system, lane change warning system, 6 airbags, air conditioning, power windows, central locking with remote control, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, a rearview camera, rear view camera, cruise control, , alloy wheels, a trip computer, audio system with Bluetooth and USB port, tire pressure control system, Start-Stop system.
The 3-cylinder 1.2 engine with 80 hp responds very comfortably to the needs of the car in an urban crisis, but also, thanks to its greater power than the thousand, in some movements just outside the urban environment, offering acceptable performance to something like that (0-100 km / h at 12.8 ). Its characteristic feature, which makes driving in traffic easier, is its very good elasticity, something that Mitsubishi engineers have traditionally known to achieve in their engines. This allows it to be used almost continuously at low to medium speeds, thus reducing noise inside. His collaboration with the easy-to-use 5 -speed manual transmission is correct and the whole allows the consumption to be kept at very reasonable levels (its average value for the whole duration of our test, using and the suburban environment was less than 7 liters / 100 km.
Offering absolutely satisfactory comfort for a city car, the Space Star does not tire on the bad streets of Athens, while its small size offers the necessary flexibility, but even going a little further out, it does not bother with its behavior, which is completely predictable, with a good grip for a small car, progressive reactions, and adequate brakes. Only the feel of the steering wheel is mediocre, but this of course does not concern the driver in the daily traffic of the city, where he is mainly interested in the steering wheel being light so that he does not get tired of on-site maneuvers and parking.
