Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru

Indian Institute of Science is a deemed-to-be-university established in 1909 by the government of India.

  1. It provides M.Tech, Ph.D., MMS, BSc, MA, and M.Des for courses like Engineering, Science, IT, Business & management studies, and Design.
  2. For BSc research, the student has to score the passing score in KVPY/JEE main/ NEET-UG entrance exam.
  3. For M.Tech, the student has to clear the GATE score, followed by a written round for some specialisation and personal interview for the others.
  4. For M.Des, the student has to clear the GATE score followed by the written round and a personal interview.
  5. For MMS, the student has to clear the GATE/GMAT/CAT score, followed by a personal interview.
  6. For Ph.D., the student has to clear the GATE/JRF/NET score, followed by a personal interview and a personal interview.
  7. The course fee for BSc and postgraduate courses like M.Tech and M.Des is Rs 29,200 per annum; for the MMS course, it is Rs 2, 66,500 per annum.
  8. The course fee for Ph.D. is Rs 35,200 per annum.

JNU, Delhi

JNU, Delhi, was founded in 1969. It is one of the best universities in India. It has been recognised with the ‘University of Excellence’ status.

  1. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, dual degrees, MBA, Ph.D. in 106 different courses from 11 different streams. It has over 13 schools, 7 special centres, and 55 centres and has provided recognition to over 18 defence and research institutes.
  2. JNU conducts its entrance examination JNUEE for all the undergraduate courses and some post-graduation courses like MSc, MA, MBA degrees.

Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi

Banaras Hindu University was founded in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. It was formerly known as Central Hindu College.

  1. The university offers 352 courses under 16 different UG, PG, and Ph.D. streams.
  2. BHU conducts various kinds of entrance examinations based on the educational degree. It conducts BHU UET for undergraduate students, BHU PET for postgraduate students, and RET (Research Entrance Test) for the remaining 325 courses at UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels.
  3. The B.Tech and BPharma are selected through JEE mains and advanced scorecards.
  4. The BSc Nursing students are selected through the BHU BSc Nursing entrance exam.

  6. The admission for MBA is made through the CAT scorecard followed by a personal interview.

Jadavpur University, Kolkata

Jadavpur University was started in 1906 under the name Bengal Technical Institute and was renamed Jadavpur University in 1955.

It has two campuses – Jadavpur and Salt Lake.

  1. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., MSc, MPhil degrees in over 130 courses.
  2. Jadavpur University selects candidates for graduate degrees through WBJEE.
  3. The admission for M.Tech programs is made through GATE.
