Covid-19 is a disease which is caused by Sars-Cov-2. It has caused millions of people to feel worried about the virus. Most people who have contracted it have mild symptoms and become better within a few weeks.
Generally, they stay in a non-health care setting to avoid community transmission. However, some people can become very ill, especially if they have underlying health conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. Even if you and your family are fully vaccinated, you have to be careful, still. Here is how to keep safe during this novel corona virus pandemic that you have to keep in mind.
Avoid Crowded Places
Stay home. Do not go out unless it is necessary – for example, medical emergency or if you have to go grocery shopping to buy your needs. Do not go to bars and movie theatres that can put you at risk. If you are indoors, open all the windows to let the fresh air come in.
Wear Face Protection
Wear face protection such as a face shield whenever you are outdoors. It can protect your whole face which includes the eyes, nose, and mouth. The said parts can be the gateway where the virus can enter your body. Keep in mind though that it should not replace the face mask.
Always Clean and Disinfect your Home
Keep your home safe by cleaning and disinfecting it at all times. All the more you have to it in the following high-touch surfaces – doorknobs, drawer pulls, faucets, handles, light switches, remote controls, sinks, and toilets.
Remember, anyone who comes in and out of your place, can be the carrier of the virus. In addition, the virus can stay in surfaces for up to 24 hours. Therefore, make it a habit to clean and disinfect, even if you are not leaving home. Use cleaning products that have the power to kill the virus as not all of them are useful on all types of germs.
Wash your Hands Regularly
One of the best ways to get rid of germs is by washing your hands with soap and water regularly. Scrub your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you do not have access to soap and water, use an alcohol or a hand sanitizer, instead. The alcohol or sanitizer needs to have 70% alcohol.
Apart from high-touch surfaces, you have to disinfect the items you buy at the grocery store. It is better safe than sorry, right? Wash them with a powerful cleaning product.
Practice Social Distancing
Keep a safe distance of 6 feet when you are outdoors. If you are at home and a family member has the virus, make sure to not be in contact with him or her.
You should get vaccinated as soon as possible with the approved vaccines that can help protect you against the virus.
Apart from this list, take time to monitor your health every day. Watch out for Covid-19 symptoms like cough, fever, and shortness of breath.
