Highlights on types of cloud computing services

Must Read

You may have heard the word cloud computing very commonly, but do you understand what this cloud computing is, the reason it is being heard so much nowadays. As we realise, network technologies have gained a great deal of headway in the last two decades.

Since the time, the internet ( The most popular computer network) has communicated its reality, there has been a great deal of progression in the field of computer networks and there has been a ton of exploration particularly in the field of advancements like cloud computing and distributed computing.

Talking about the cloud, it is the design of a large interconnected network of servers which is designed to deliver computer resources and there is no concept of exact location in this where the data is coming from and where it is going. It is a collection of licensed services that are provided by different Vendors.

In a simpler term, when someone provides you a service via internet, then it is called cloud computing where the service can be anything such as off-site storage or computing resources or rather it can be a style of computing massively scalable and flexible IT related capabilities which are provided as a service with the help of internet technologies.

Types of cloud computing depending on the services provided by the cloud.

  • IaaS (Infrastructure as a service)

Iaas is commonly the process of buying or renting the disk storage and computer power from an external source of service provider.

This option allows you to access over a private network or the internet. The specialist keeps up the actual PC hardware, including processing of the CPU, memory, information storage and organization network. These services are basically used for business purposes. The biggest example of this is VPS, which is the virtual private server. It is a kind of server where you get software and network as well as computing power to operate your service.

Example: Amazon EC2, Rackspace etc.

  • PaaS (Platform as a service)

In Platform as a service, the user gets only one platform which can have either storage or computing power in which you do not have any control over things completely. They can be controlled only by the cloud provider. Essentially you rent the hardware, operating systems, storage and network capacity that these kinds of services provide you as well as software servers and application environments. It gives more control over the technical aspects of your computing set up and the ability to customise it to suit your needs. For example, Google App Engine, Microsoft Azure etc.

  • SaaS (Software as a service)

SaaS is the most common form of cloud computing for small businesses where you can access software applications hosted on the internet using a browser instead of traditional applications stored on your PC or server. In this as a service, you get only one software hosted on a remote server which is used for a certain task. The host of application and software will be responsible for the control over softwares and apps including its configuration settings. You, as a client, have less power over the application and design settings. Such administrations contain any sort of software.

Example: Google docs online, Microsoft 365, Google apps or Google G Suite etc.

Conclusion

The technology is getting advanced day by day and such cloud computing services are proving beneficial for many businesses and if you want to know how cloud computing is beneficial for your business then you can enrol yourself in cloud computing training in Delhi.
