Every hardware attached to a computer has its own importance and the same is true with the Bluetooth of your Windows machine, that if it faces any problem then you cannot connect your Bluetooth devices like speakers, headphones and other devices. And you have to again deal with those tangled wired connections.

It is often seen that all the wireless connections like Bluetooth are less reliable than wired connections and often start facing problems. The reason could be anything like the Bluetooth device is not working properly, the device you are connecting is not responding, the device is out of range, or the Bluetooth driver not working.

But, irrespective of the reasons, below we have listed some troubleshooting steps that will fix the problem of Bluetooth Driver not working in Windows 11. So without further delay let’s start.

Why is Bluetooth Not Working in Windows 11?

There can be several reasons for Bluetooth not working like the problem with the Bluetooth hardware, problem with the connected Bluetooth device, Bluetooth is not connected properly or not turned on, the Bluetooth device is not in the range and many more. However if it is Bluetooth Driver not working in Windows 11 then the problem is surely because of an outdated or incompatible Bluetooth driver. But the good news is that regardless of the reasons, this problem can be easily fixed by following the troubleshooting steps we have mentioned below.

How to Fix Bluetooth Not Working Issue

If you have anytime run into problems with the Bluetooth of your system then before taking your device to the service center or calling a technician we recommend you try these steps by yourself. As if not more but at least 85-90% Bluetooth problems can be solved by the methods shared below.

Check if Bluetooth is turned on

First thing first. Before executing any of the troubleshooting steps it’s better to check the primary and basic things like confirming that Bluetooth is turned on both the PC and the device you are connecting to your PC. Because if Bluetooth is disabled then it is obvious that the device will not be paired with your computer.

To check if Bluetooth is enabled, click on the ‘Action Center’ icon located in the ‘Taskbar’ to view the Quick Settings. As an alternate way you can also press WINDOWS + A to launch the Action Center. Once done now check for the Bluetooth tile and confirm it is enabled. If it is enabled then the tile will appear blue while if disabled it will appear white. And if it is disabled then click on the tile to enable it.

It is also possible that your computer has a separate physical key to enable Bluetooth. If there is one, verify if it’s enabled.

Disable and Re-enable Bluetooth on PC

Disabling and re-enabling the Bluetooth on your PC also fixes many problems related to Bluetooth. To quickly disable and re-enable the Bluetooth on your device, click on the ‘Action Center’ icon located in the ‘Taskbar or launch ‘Quick Settings’ by pressing Windows + A key on your keyboard.  Now click on the Bluetooth tile to turn off/disable Bluetooth. This will change the tile color from blue to white.

Now wait for a minute or two and then enable the Bluetooth by clicking on the Bluetooth tile.

You can now check whether you are able to connect to your wireless with the Bluetooth.

Restart your PC and the Bluetooth Device

It is often seen that due to a slight hardware or software glitch Bluetooth temporarily stops functioning either on your system or on the device you are connecting with. However, this can be fixed easily by simply restarting your computer or the device or both.

Therefore, click on the Windows Start button and just restart your computer by pressing Restart option. Also simply turn off the Bluetooth device you are connecting with the PC, wait for a minute and or so and then turn it on.

Now once you have restarted both your PC and the Bluetooth device, try connecting them again. If the problem is fixed and you are successful in connecting the PC with the Bluetooth device then you are good to go. In case the problem persists then watches out for the next step.

Restart Bluetooth Support Service

Bluetooth Support Service is Windows inbuilt service for Bluetooth that is responsible for all Bluetooth connections to work flawlessly. Therefore if in case Bluetooth Support Service is not running, or stopped, or has run into an error then you will start facing Bluetooth issues on your computer. However, restarting the service would fix the issue.

To restart the Bluetooth Support Service follow the steps below:

  • Press Windows + R key to open Windows Run command box.
  • Now in the Run command box type services.msc and press the Enter key. This will open the Windows Services screen.
  • The windows services are listed in alphabetical order. Now look out for ‘Bluetooth Support Service’ and double-click on it to launch its properties.
  • Now in the Bluetooth Support Service Properties window, click on the drop-down arrow in front of Startup type and from the drop-down menu that appears click on the ‘Automatic’ option.
  • Once you have changed the Startup type to automatic, click on the Start button under Service status to start the service.
  • Now once the service starts click on the ‘OK’ button to apply the changes. You can now close the properties and Bluetooth Support Service window.

After restarting Bluetooth Support Service, check whether you are now able to connect your PC via Bluetooth to your device.

Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter

It is good to see that the Windows Built in troubleshooter also exists in Windows 11 operating system. This Windows Troubleshooter can be used to diagnose and fix many common problems of Windows including the Bluetooth problems.

So whenever you face any issues on your Windows PC then it’s advisable to first run Windows troubleshooter and let it fix the issue for you, instead of making any random changes to the PC.

To run the Windows troubleshooter for Bluetooth follow the steps below:

  • Click on the ‘Windows Start’ icon in the Taskbar or press WINDOWS + X to launch the Quick Access menu, and now select ‘Settings’. Alternatively, to launch the Settings app press WINDOWS + I key together on your keyboard.
  • Now on the Windows Settings, click on the ‘Troubleshoot’ option on the right panel.
  • Next, click on ‘Other troubleshooters’.
  • Now look out for the Bluetooth option, and once located click on the Run button located next to it.
  • Once the Troubleshooter starts all you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
  • After the troubleshooting process Windows will show you the possible cause of the problem along with the fix to resolve it.

Hopefully once you apply the fix your Bluetooth problem will be resolved.

Issues with Bluetooth Driver

If after following the above listed steps the problem still persists then it is quite likely that the Bluetooth driver is not working in Windows 11. To fix this you need to either update the Bluetooth driver on Windows 11 or download the Bluetooth driver.
