BIS is a national agency for the maintenance of product quality, protection, and reliability in India. To conduct preliminary surveillance and test samples of goods, BIS has established eight central, four regional and three branch laboratories in its country. The government, therefore, encourages BIS certification for the following purposes: to guarantee public health; to ensure quality; to protect the customer from dangerous products; to promote consumer trust.

    Standard procedure –
