Despite the apparent low participation of the primary sector in the use of electronic invoicing, the reality is very different if the weight of this activity in the Spanish economy is taken into account. According to the SERES CMO for Iberia and LATAM “this slight positive variation indicates a trend, especially in a year where there has been a lot of variation compared to previous years. In any case, the percentage of use of electronic invoicing in this sector is higher than the percentage of participation in the GDP of these companies, which in 2019 represented 2.6% of the national total ”.
According to the Study, the number of electronic invoices processed in 2019 in our country amounted to 206,464,053 documents, 13.51% more than in 2018. Of the total, 171,773,817 documents-6.1% more than in 2018- correspond to transactions between companies (B2B), 22,292,891 to operations between companies and public administrations (B2G) and 12,397,345 to sales from companies to individuals (B2C).
Thanks to the use of electronic invoicing, in 2019 more than 1,600 million euros were saved in the management of invoices issued and received, and the equivalent in working hours of more than 442 working years. In addition, a positive environmental impact was generated close to the forest area of the Retiro Park by eliminating the paper from invoices, envelopes, etc. According to the study, the average cost of receiving an invoice is € 7.22 on paper and € 2.27 on digital and € 4.45 on paper and € 1.64 on digital issuance.
